CHRONOS BOOSTS BIODIVERSITY AND RESEARCH EXPERTISE WITH TWO NEW HIRES

London, 24 June 2022, Chronos Sustainability (“Chronos”), the award-winning global sustainability advisory firm, has made two new hires to its growing team. Dr Rebecca Drury has been appointed as Manager, Biodiversity and Nature, while Chup Priovashini has joined as a Research Analyst within its Responsible Investment team.  These latest appointments are in response to continued growth and sustained demand from financial institutions, corporates and non-governmental organisations for specialist expertise that delivers real-world sustainability impact at scale.

Dr Rebecca Drury is a social and natural scientist with more than 15 years’ experience in international conservation and biodiversity issues. She joins Chronos from Fauna & Flora International (FFI), where, as Head of Wildlife Trade, she led FFI’s Wildlife Trade programme focused on addressing unsustainable trade in wildlife across FFI’s global portfolio. Rebecca has an M.Sc. in Anthropology, Environment and Development and a Ph.D. in Human Ecology from University College London. At Chronos, Rebecca will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of biodiversity and nature-based change programmes with both companies and investors.  She will work alongside Gemma James, Senior Manager, Biodiversity and Nature, who joined Chronos from the Principles for Responsible Investment in February 2022.

Chup Priovashini is a specialist research analyst with an interest in human geography and the environment. At Chronos, Chup will work across the firm’s portfolio of responsible investment clients and projects as well as supporting Chronos’ major benchmarking programmes including the Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare.  Chup has gained her experience to date as an accomplished research assistant and holds an MSc with distinction in Nature, Society and Environmental Governance from the University of Oxford.

Dr Rory Sullivan, CEO, Chronos Sustainability, said: “At Chronos, we make a clear commitment to our clients, our partners, our colleagues and our business that we will deliver sustainable impact at scale. Ensuring we have best-in-class expertise to support this pledge is critical to our mission.  I am delighted to welcome Rebecca and Chup to our growing team.

Nicky Amos, Managing Director, Chronos Sustainability, said: “We know that biodiversity loss is fast becoming a prominent focus for companies, investors, policymakers and NGOs as the world’s stakeholders rush to take stock of the significant risks it represents. By adding further, dedicated expertise in biodiversity and nature, we will deliver more of the action-orientated programmes this important issue demands.
