MEDIA RELEASE

CHRONOS SUSTAINABILITY DEEPENS APAC SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENT EXPERTISE

-       Dr Ian Woods to provide specialist consultancy on climate change and responsible investment programmes across asset spectrum.

London, Sydney, 05 June 2020: Chronos Sustainability (“Chronos”), the specialist sustainability advisory firm, has announced a strategic association with climate change and responsible investment veteran, Dr Ian Woods. The association reflects the continuing growth of Chronos’ expert network and underlines the firm’s commitment to its clients and the sustainability agenda in Asia Pacific.  Dr Woods will be based in Sydney and will represent Chronos as its Climate Change and Sustainable Investment Specialist, Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Woods is an internationally recognised expert on climate change, and on ethical and responsible investment. Much of his career to date has focussed on proprietary research into the link between ESG performance and investment across equities, fixed income and alternatives, including real asset investments. He was a founder of the Australia/New Zealand Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC, Australia, NZ) of which he was Deputy Chair until 2019, and was previously head of AMP Capital’s Sustainable Investments team.

Dr Rory Sullivan, CEO, Chronos Sustainability, said: “Ian’s experience, long-standing commitment and contribution to global sustainable investment has marked him out as an agent of change in the sector. There are few specialists with Ian’s far reaching coverage of the asset class spectrum, in the context of responsible investment. His global expertise and regional knowledge will be hugely valuable to our clients, partners and stakeholders and will enable us to continue to drive progress, raise industry standards, and inform global best practice in sustainable investment.”

Nicky Amos, Managing Director, Chronos Sustainability, added: “Asia Pacific is home to a range of unique and systemically important sustainability challenges. Inviting Ian to support our clients and to inform Chronos’ global change programmes is a signal of our intent to deepen our expertise and amplify our impact in delivering transformative, systemic change in these key geographies.”
