CHRONOS SUSTAINABILITY STRENGTHENS LEADERSHIP TEAM WITH APPOINTMENT OF DR JON DAY AS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

 

London, 16 January 2020: Chronos Sustainability (“Chronos”), the specialist sustainability advisory firm is bolstering its senior leadership team with the appointment of Dr Jon Day as Chief Operating Officer.

Chronos provides strategic advice and support to investors, companies, governments and other stakeholders to deliver transformative, systemic change in the social and environmental performance of key industry sectors. Dr Day’s appointment reflects the sustained and continuing growth of Chronos’ business during the past two years.

 

Dr Day is an experienced business leader, administrator and project manager. He has almost 30 years’ experience in academic and commercial environments and has led and supported a range of high-profile programmes. Jon also has an international reputation for his research in behavioural science, nutrition and animal welfare.

 

In this newly-created role, Dr Day will be responsible for overseeing Chronos’ business operations to deliver consultancy and research services to its clients and partners efficiently and securely. His appointment follows the formalisation of roles of the firm’s co-founders Dr Rory Sullivan and Nicky Amos who became CEO and managing director respectively in December 2019. It also follows the appointment of Amanda Williams as director of communications in September 2019.

His depth of experience in both a commercial and academic context, combined with his strong leadership, systems and operations expertise will be pivotal as we continue to grow our business.”

 

Chronos works with more than 40 clients, including institutional investors, corporates, civil society organisations, intergovernmental organisations and industry bodies, and is working on sustainability-related projects and initiatives around the world. It is currently leading or supporting a series of major industry transformation projects including The Transition Pathway Initiative, The Global Coalition for Animal Welfare and The Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare. The firm has also played a principal role in supporting the investment industry’s efforts on climate change adaptation and mitigation through its work with the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) and other industry bodies, and acts as an adviser to leading global financial institutions on their responsible investment policies, processes and activities.
