EXPERIENCED FOOD PROGRAMME MANAGER KATHERINE BUTTON JOINS CHRONOS FOOD AND HEALTH TEAM

(London, 25/10/24). Chronos Sustainability (“Chronos”), the award-winning sustainability consultancy, has announced the appointment of Katherine Button as Programme Manager in its Food and Health team.

Katherine will support the management and delivery of several flagship programmes including the Global Coalition for Animal Welfare and the Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare (BBFAW) – a multi-stakeholder initiative recognised as the world’s most authoritative measure of corporate animal welfare management. Katherine will also contribute to the company’s extensive corporate work on animal welfare-, sustainable food and health-related issues.
Katherine has previously worked with The Alliance to Save Our Antibiotics and The Campaign for Better Hospital Food and has managed campaigns that saw the UK Government ban the routine use of farm antibiotics, and saw NHS England set national hospital food targets for the first time.

Nicky Amos, Managing Director, Chronos Sustainability, said: “Katherine joins us at a time when companies from the food, textile, cosmetics and automotive sectors, and their investors, increasingly recognise the high costs of poor animal welfare. We are delighted that initiatives like the Global Coalition for Animal Welfare and the Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare are driving higher standards in the world’s leading food businesses and we are looking forward to adding Katherine’s experience and expertise to the team.”

Katherine Button, Programme Manager, Animal Welfare, Chronos Sustainability, said: “I’m keen to join Chronos and get involved in its ground-breaking work with investors, corporates, non-profits and civil society on issues from animal welfare to human health. I’m really drawn to the collaborative environment that Chronos aims to foster, and look forward to working with the impressive Chronos team and its global client list.”

Katherine is the latest addition to Chronos’ team and network of global sustainability experts. Chronos’ recent appointments include David Russell as European Sustainability Specialist; Oceans Specialist Tanya Cox, Pins Brown as Human Rights Specialist; Laura Fox as Manager, Biodiversity and Agriculture; Former PRI Head of Communications Elliot Frankal as Senior Manager, Communications; and Cora Buentjen, Aisling Eyers, Anna Hattam and Fatima Husain as Research Analysts.

Chronos was recently named Sustainability Consultancy of the Year in the edie Awards, the UK's largest sustainable business awards. It was also named Best Sustainable Investment Consultancy in the Investment Week Sustainable Investment Awards 2023, and was Environmental Finance’s Consultant/Advisor of the Year in its 2022 and 2021 Impact Awards.
